Peace Among Dragons
Fierce they were, warriors of an ancient cause
Chips on their shoulders with no thought to pause.
Ransack and ravage with hissing forked tongues,
Total destruction when the damage was done.
Bright in the flight of each tale that was spun
There was no stopping until all had been won.
The prize was the motive; the reason they clashed
With all and each other as hope withered fast.
Then one of the dragons, the smallest of all
Understood what was happening and called to a halt:
All of the fighting among their fair breed
And finally conceded it was all caused by greed.
“Greed for the power of pride.” she explained.
“Is not a great treasure, it simply is vain.”
And so she refused to fight anymore
And peace was established within her own doors.

It’s hard being the “black sheep”…It takes a lot of bravery to go against the prevailing culture…But certainly the world would be more peaceful if we could more often do this…
It’s a good thing we’ve had people willing to stand up to the masses…If it weren’t for greats like Joan of Arc, Mother Theresa, Ghandi, Mandela, MLK, and so many others, I’d hate to think of the kind of world we’d be living in today. Many thanks…

This is wonderful… but then I’ve always had a “thing” for dragons! (vivid imagination I guess) I just love this… your nailed it precisely! 😀
Thanks so much…you are so kind with your words…

This made me smile wryly
A lightness of tone hiding a message of significance
Terrific

Thank you for reminding us that is often takes only ONE of us to turn the tide of a seemingly impossible situation. Now, as we enter 2013, let us remember that WE ARE ALL ONE. That should make it easier for us to stand up for what is true and right in this world. Happy New Year.
